About Katie

My name is Ashley and I am the mother of two beautiful children, Jacob who is 7 years old and Katie my sweet Angel who will forever be 1 year and 20 days old. My daughter Katie was born premature at 4 lbs 12 oz. Katie was so tiny and yet so strong. She grew so quick that by the time she reached her due date she was 9 lbs. Katie had a beautiful spirit to her. Katie was so happy and smart. Katie was rarely sick and was just content to cuddle and play her day with her brother and me. One fateful day our lives forever changed when I dropped my daughter and son to the daycare to be told by phone later that afternoon that she had been sleeping and when checked on she had stopped breathing. It’s a mother’s worst nightmare to be told that the doctors tried everything but she was gone. I felt so alone in the world. What could take such a beautiful child; my child who I loved more then anything in this world?

Two and half years later and we still do not have any answers. My only light in the darkness was The SUDC Program, the only program dedicated to finding out why these precious children suddenly pass away with no warning signs. Please help a fellow friend and mom who lost her son Brandon to the same unknown cause. It is my hope and prayer that we find a reason. I hope you will join us for Brandon and Katie's run for a reason.
